CMICA welcomes MS Dhoni to the team
“It is the perfect platform for me to give something back to the game … That’s why I am happy to be associated with Craig’s academy as it is trying to bridge the gap between sports and education in a technology-driven society” – MS Dhoni
CMICA is delighted to welcome Indian cricket team captain, MS Dhoni to the team, as our brand ambassador and academy mentor. In his role he will help promote CMICA around the world, expand the Academy’s reach into the subcontinent and add his invaluable knowledge of the game to our academy’s coaching knowledge -bank. At the press conference at The Grand in Delhi, Dhoni said that he was excited to be part of CMICA as it will give him the opportunity to meet and mentor young aspiring cricketers in India and Australia. “It is the perfect platform for me to give something back to the game, more importantly, the academy will help sports-minded kids strike the right balance between education and sport. So far, intelligent youngsters who were also good in sport had to choose and settle only for one,” he added.
With plans to further develop our unique program, which gives students who travel to Australia under the educational sports category to be trained under CMICA in Australia as well as plans for a future academy in India which will be run by Rhiti Sports Management and mentored by Dhoni. He said “I’m pleased to support Craig’s educational sports academy. And since Craig is a sportsperson, I know he will give 200% to his new venture.”
Dhoni is a big believer in the contribution of sports in life, especially among children and students and the many benefits that it brings.
“When we were growing up, we used to play a lot of sports outside. Though we did have a television then but we only had two channels to choose from, unlike today. These days parents are happy with children sitting at home as they feel they’re safer inside. He … I think we were blessed that we were thrown out of the house as we could engage in more sporting activities. Over a period of time, it gave huge rewards as it helped me develop higher levels of concentration and kept me fresher. Sports teaches one a lot about life and helps one develop virtues of discipline, hard work, accountability. It also teaches how to handle setbacks in life. That’s why I am happy to be associated with Craig’s academy as it is trying to bridge the gap between sports and education in a technology-driven society“.
We welcome Mahendra Singh Dhoni on board for this exciting new chapter for CMICA.
